One of my favorite musicians, and people, in the world is Mr. Barry Manilow. While shunned by many, he has touched my life in a way that few people will ever understand. I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Manilow on September 1, 1996 in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Mr. Manilow was doing a show there that day and when he arrived early my family and I were the only group of people waiting for him. We chatted for a moment while he signed some autographs. As I told him my name, his personal assistant realized that they had read a letter I sent backstage at the show the night before. Mr. Manilow was suddenly very interested in my musical pursuits and took us inside to discuss music. He is such an encouragement to young musicians. He wants to see everyone around him succeed. Mr. Manilow and I have kept up with each other and is always there to push me that extra mile.
