Goat Milk Soap
Why goat milk soap is better
For centuries, people have been using milk as a cleansing agent. Now scientists know that goat milk soap has a pH level that is closer to the skin's own pH levels than soaps made without it. Unlike cow's milk, goat's milk is naturally homogenized--the milk and cream do not separate -- offering the full moisturizing effect of everything nature puts into the milk. Therefore, goat milk soap is extraordinarily gentle, and tender even to the driest of skin.
It is now confirmed that alpha-hydroxy acids found in milk have rejuvenating and softening properties. And, unlike most mass-manufactured soaps, our handcrafted, cold-processed soap retains all of the moisturizing glycerin formed in the soapmaking process.
There are natural variations in the bars of soap from batch to batch, due mainly to the temperature at the time the soap was made. The warmer temperature creates a darker soap. You may notice a light film on the soap, this is soda ash, which is also a by-product of the soap curing. This is natural and washes off when you use the soap. You will not see this on commercial soap, because most of it is actually re-milled soap, or detergent bars. During the milling process of commercial soap they actually “sweat” off the glycerin which is a natural by-product of soap making. Glycerin is a natural moisturizer of skin, a humectant that draws moisture to the skin. They then sell this to be used in lotion. We have some re-milled soaps we will be adding for sale soon.
Soap making is both an art and a science. Our formula contains the maximum possible content of fresh milk and cream, about one-third of each bar! We also use a cold process method of soap making that allows the soap's natural glycerin to remain intact. We make and wrap all our soaps by hand in small batches at home. Each batch is then tested on our family and friends. We hope you enjoy our soaps as much as we do!
Scented versions are lightly scented with essential oils and fragrance oils.

Goat milk soap is very softening for dry skin. It contains no water, only pure rich goat's milk and cream in every bar.
Goat milk soap is gentle enough to be used as a shampoo bar -- no conditioner needed!
Goat milk soap is creamy enough to be used for shaving -- just rub bar directly on whiskers for a thick lather.
The bars sell for $2.00 plus shipping, calculated for the continental United States. We have several different shapes you can choose from including, in large bars, Nubian head, celestrial moon, cat head, pig, ankh, swiss goat, dragon, frogs, dolphins, and plain stamped with goat milk. In smaller bars we have, sun, moons, clam shells, fish, and star fish.
