CAT/KITTEN ADOPTION INFORMATION
Due to the rarity of the Scottish Fold, AND due to the fact that not every kitten born has folded ears, it is very hard for the supply to keep up with the demand. Pricing on Scottish Folds usually depends on type, applicable markings/color, coat length, sex and bloodlines distinguished by Champion (CH.), Grand Champion (GRC.), National or Regional winning parentage (NW. or RW.) or of Distinguished Merit parentage (DM.).  Usually breeders make kittens available between 12 and 16 weeks of age.  After twelve weeks, kittens have had their basic inoculations and developed the physical and social stability needed for a new environment, showing, or being transported by air.  Keeping such a rare treasure indoors, neutering or spaying, prompt medical attention when needed, good quality food, providing acceptable surfaces (scratching posts) for the natural behavior of scratching and generous doses of love are essential elements for maintaining a healthy, long and joyful life.
We "usually" have kittens and/or cats available throughout the year.  Please also consider adopting a nice quality retired breeder/show adult Scottish Fold.  Although I am very attached to these adults as most, if not all, of them were born in my home and I love them dearly.... I have learned that I can't keep them all and want to place these special cats where they can live long lives in quiet leisure retirement.  I do not ship retired adult cats and the adoption fee is quite resonable which is usually just the cost of their spay/neuter and health check up.    We have kittens available at different times throughout the year and sometimes there may be a waiting list, especially if a person is wanting to adopt a specific color/sex/coat length/ear type.  I do not place any kittens until they are at least 12 weeks old & are already neutered or spayed.  Kittens may be seen at 9 weeks old (one week after their first vaccination) and a non-refundable deposit of 40% of the purchase price will be required at that time if a particular kitten is chosen for future adoption.  We really prefer to place our kittens locally (southwest region), but may ship under special circumstances.  We often attend cat shows in southern/northern California and at times in Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, etc. and can transport any kitten or cat with us if prior arrangements are made.
WRITTEN CONTRACT REQUIRED
A written contract is required for all our kitten and cat adoptions  which is meant to protect not only the cat and it's future, but to let the new owner know that we also stand behind our cattery and the kittens born here.  We also provide a health guarantee which is written into the contract.  My husband and I also love to stay in contact with our new Scottish Fold owners and enjoy any updates and pictures when time permits.
If you decide that a Scottish Fold kitten or cat may be in your future, please email us with any questions.  Please note: I usually receive quite a few emails a week and several phone calls so if we happen to miss your email/message and you do not hear from us feel free to send another email or you can call us and leave another message.  Since every kitten/cat has their own unique personality, please let me know a little about yourself and life style in your inquiry.  I will need to know your full name, where you are located, the number/ages/types of exsisting pets that you may have, if you have any children and if you stay at home or are at work all day.  Please expect an interview when inquiring about the adoption of one of our cats.
