Well, not too much news to report the last few weeks.  EBWorld is changing
their name to EBGames, and they have added some i-Cybie info on their site.
There is a RUMOR, and that may be all it is, that i-Cyibe IS in production,
which would mean we would get them on or earlier then we expected.  I
added a chatroom to my site.  I have some "inside info" but I can't tell you
untill I get some permission.  I also got two of the Robo-Chis from McDonald's
and they are nothing to brag about, that is about it.

EBWorld has cancelled all of the I-Cybie $139.99 pre-orders and is forcing
everyone to buy them at the new $199.99 price, but with a $20 discount
coupon.  Also, Mcdonalds will be offering a Poo-Chi happy meal, with actual
miniature, semi-working, poo-chis, meow-chis, and chirpi-chis.

I have some really annoying news to report:
Ebworld has changed their shipping date to June 16th, and has raised the
price to 199.99 (looks like I ordered just in time, I ordered last week, hopefully
they don't make me pay more)  Thats about it, also there will be a chat with a
tiger toys representative today in the Yahoo! i-Cybie group chat room.

A few little things to add, first the toy fair has started HORRAY (it actually
started yesterday).  Look for new information on i-cybie on the news, the
inernet, and maybe even in a comercial.  And the other thing is that I-Cybie
will DEFINATELY go to its charger when it's batteries are low, but its charger
will be extra, the package only comes with a small ac adapter.  One more
thing, I-Cybie will have three eye colors, unlike the two we expected, they are,
Red, Green, and Yellow.  I guess they thought having red for excitement
would get confusing.

EBWorld.com has moved back to the expected shipping date of May 17.  Also,
there has been a New York Times article printed on feb. 4th about i-cybie.
There is a copy of it at i-cybie.net's message board (although it is down quite
often). It tells of all the delays and of all the features, it is pretty interesting.

Just some new tidbits, I-Cybie WILL monitor its own power level, I-Cybie WILL
find its own charger, and I-Cybie WILL plug itself into the charger which AIBO
DOES NOT DO.  Also, unlike Aibo, I-Cybie has its charger ports under its neck,
you can see them in some of the pictures of I-Cybie's front.  There are two
metal contacts, I-Cybie will walk up to the charger and charge while standing
up with it's neck on the charger (That will look weird).  I will post some
pictures of the charger probably around Feb 15 after the toy fair when they
may come available, look for ALOT of info on I-Cybie then, I CAN'T WAIT!

I recently found this website:

http://www.time.com/time/digital/magazine/articles/0,4753,59316,00.html

It talks about i-cybie and things we already know, but at the end it mentions
that it will be able to seek out its charging station!  If this article is right (and I
think it is since it is from time magazine) the rumor is true!

I know this is not really new but I just remembered that I didn't put it on the
website.  On the box posted on the official website of i-cybie (
www.i-cybie.com) it says that it is for 14 and up, odd isn't it.  Also, the rumor
about it seeking out it's charger may be true!

I have heard from a reliable source that i-cybie WILL be able to follow you.
Also, I have heard that the "toy" is not a ball but I could not aquire more than
that.  One more important thing is that it WILL be able to connect to the
computer.  Another tenative thing is that they may have added more features
(tricks) but this may not be true.

The Official I-Cybie Site has been updated.  Now, it has a video of I-Cybie
walking, standing on its head, doing pushups, and more.  I walks pretty well,
although it is a little slow.  They also put a VRML box on the site which I have
been unable to view as of yet.  For a comlete list of the text on the box go to
the i-cybie central message board and scan though the pages.  Another weird
thing is that on the box it says for ages 14 and up, WOW, it isn't a kid toy.

I recieved this letter from tiger on the 8th of January:

I-Cybie is scheduled for release in May 2001.  Look for it at all major toy
stores.

Sincerely,
