Q. When will it come out?
A. It is out, horray:-)
Q. Will it be autonomous?
A. Yes, it will walk around for 10-30 minutes since you last used it.
Q. What does autonomous mean?
A. It means it will be able to walk around and do things without interaction from you, although if you want it to do something else you can change it through discipline and praise, (i.e. it is not remote control)
Q. Will it seek out its charger and plug itself in when it's batteries are low?
A. Yes
Q. What colors will it come in?
A. Gold and Bluish Silver, and another color yet to be decided.
Q. What is the reccomended age?
A. The reccomended age is 14 and up (yes that is FOURTEEN AND UP, this is not a toy designed for little kids, HORRAY)
Q. Who is making I-Cybie?
A. Silverlit helped design it with Tiger Electronics (who will produce it in the U.S.) Tomy will produce it in Asia.
Q. What will I-Cybie cost?
A. It will cost somewhere around $200
Q. Will it be able to connect to the P.C.?
A. No, but it will come with a kit to download tricks onto a chip, which can then be put in i-Cybie.
Q. Will i-cybie try to chase things?
A. It will have object detection (It will find objects with a special coating) and it will be able to "chase" sounds.
Q. Will i-cybie have emotions?
A. Yes, it will have 4, plus built many complex ones. The four emotions are,
happiness, sadness, hyper, and tired.
Q. Will I-Cybie mature?
A. Yes, it will mature from puppy to adult dog.
Q. How many sensors will it have?
A. Over 70
Q. Will it get up when it falls over?
A. Yes
Q. Where will I be able to buy it when it comes out?
A. Most all major toy/electronics stores, FAO is the only retailer with it right now.
Q. Will i-Cybie come with a toy?
A. No, the toy idea was scrapped, on the plus side, this means that most likely there is no more "feeding."
Q. Will there be male and female i-Cybies?
A. No, since i-Cybie is a robot, there will only be "its" (note, the manual says "he" alot)
Q. Will i-Cybie include the walk up charger?
A. No, the walk up charger will cost an extra $40, but a smaller ac adapter charger will be included.
Q. Will i-Cybie include the expansion kit?
A. No, i-Cybie will not include the actual kit, it will be an extra $40, but i-Cybie will come with the memory card that the kit will use.
Q. Will i-Cybie work right out of the box?
A. Unlike aibo, which requires extra purchases to make it work, once i-Cybie's batteries are charged, it will work.
Q. How many feet of wire does i-Cybie have inside?
A. Over 90!
Q. How many parts does i-Cybie have?
A. Around 1,500!
Q. How long does it take to charge the batteries?
A. On the firts charge, 10 hours, every other charge, 4-6 hours.
Q. How long does the battery last?
A. 1.5 - 2.5 hours.
Q. What batteries does i-Cybie use?
A. It uses one 12 volt NiCad battery for the dog, plus two AAA batteries for the remote. All of which are included.
Q. How far away do the voice commands work from?
A. Sadly, in the manual it says 1-3 feet but, the actual specs on the voice chip say it can work from up to 15 feet away, so we will have to see, maybe Tiger is just being conservative.
