| Absence: If your child is
going to be absent or tardy, it is important that you call the school office
as soon as possible at 325-6764. If no call is received by 9 a.m.,
hot lunch will not be ordered for that student that day even if
lunch money has been sent for the entire week.
Bringing items to school:
Items such as bikes, radios, Walkmans, tape recorders, electronic games,
etc., should not be brought to school by students. Toys, scooters, skateboards,
and roller blades are not allowed. Students are not allowed to ride
their bikes to school.
Drop-off and pick-up procedures:
Students should be on the school grounds at 8:10 a.m. when the first bell
rings. Parents should leave plenty of time to get their children to school
on schedule. Students may be picked up when school is dismissed at 3:10
p.m.
Half-days: When there is
no school in the morning, students should report at 12:05 p.m. When there
is no school in the afternoon, students will be dismissed at 11:23 a.m.
Leaving early: The office
and the teacher must be notified of medical appointments or emergencies.
For appointments, a written note must be provided stating the time the
student will be picked up and who will be taking him/her.
Lost and Found: There is
a "Lost and Found" area located near the office. Please mark your children's
rainwear, hats, coats, mittens, jackets, etc with his/her name. We have
many items each year which are never claimed.
Medications: The Lansing
School District has a strict policy regarding the administration of medicine.
NO MEDICINE (INCLUDING NON-PRESCRIPTION DRUGS) WILL BE GIVEN UNLESS
BOTH THE PARENT AND PHYSICIAN GIVE WRITTEN CONSENT AND DIRECTIONS.
Yellow medication forms are available in the office for this purpose.
School Records: Under federal
law, your child's school records are available for your inspection. To
review your child's records, please contact the principal.
Student Dress: The Board
of Education policy states the students, along with their parents, have
the responsibility to dress themselves so that it is not disturbing to
other students who should be concentrating on learning activities. no short
shorts, see-through tops, or halter tops are allowed. Footwear should be
worn by all students at all times. Belts should be worn to prevent sagging
pants.
Supplies: For grades K-2
students are encouraged to come with: Two large boxes of facial tissue,
a supply box (small enough to fit in their desk, two glue sticks, one medium
bottle of glue, crayons (no more than 64), scissors. Grades 3-5 should
bring, two large boxes of facial tissue, two five-subject spiral notebooks,
one composition book, two steno pads, one three-ring binder, two folders
with pockets, washable markers and colored pencils, scissors, glue, and
erasers.
