Sheryl Hames Torres started making up stories to entertain her younger brothers and sisters when she was still a very little girl. She didn't decide to take the desire seriously until she became pregnant with her first child...an event doctors told her wasn't a possiblility. At that point, she decided she could do anything.
Author of Fate's Little Trick, included in Enchanted Holidays from CERRIDWEN, and Enigma included in Shivers, Screams, Visions and Dreams from DiskUs, Sher is a formerly and fulltime professional needle artist and parttime writer. She now writes fulltime, working on six novels at once, each at different stages of completion, and does her needlework restoration as a sideline.
A 1994 graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature, Sher recently placed first in the Long Contemporary category of the Southern Louisiana (SOLA) Chapter of the Romance Writers of America's "Katrina Delayed 2nd Annual Dixie Kane Memorial Contest" for her novel Rainbow's End.
Sher and Mark, her very own hero for the last 24 years, make their home with their two teenaged miracles, artist/writer Courtney, and drummer/skateboarder/breakdancer Dusty, and their "hairy son", Auggie Doggie, in beautiful Northeast Georgia, within shoutin'-and-spittin' distance of her mother and three of her five siblings. Though having lived in Michigan, Deleware, and Florida, and traveling as often as possible to the Blue Ridge Mountains,Georgia has always been home.
The Torres Family has learned a lot of things over the years, their biggest is their family motto...
Sometimes the answer to a prayer isn't "yes" or "no"... Sometimes it's merely, "Whenever I get good and ready."
