A BENEFIT FOR MARK BROWNAt The Cozy Corner-April 15th,2000.Mark Brown, a fellow biker, passed away in a motorcycle accident last thursday, April 6th, after leaving the Cozy Corner. Today, at the Cozy, a benefit was held to raise funds for his family. It started at 11:00am and lasted till around eight that night----it was a fine turn out! Thanks to the efforts of Butch Hancock and L'il Billy, (WITH A SPECIAL THANKS TO BOBBY LLOYD) the event raised $1070.00 for Mark's family. The auction was hosted by C.D. and the music was contributed by friends and aquiantances of Mark. L'il Billy, Big Mac, Mike Thompson and D.J. Willard led the event off!
Surprise--Surprise!!! That's what happened to the BeanDip when he began his turn at entertaining the crowd. During his first song, Mike Thompson came up and wandered behind him , grabbed his guitar and------loh and behold-------he began to play along. It sounded pretty darn good!!! Watching each other in surprise,(because neither had heard the other play yet), they proceeded to knock the socks off the previous performers and for 3 hours the crowd was treated to some real great country music----it was awesome!!! Something started that night that may change the music scene in southside if the 2 of them elect to start performing together. Uh Oh--------L'il Billy himself wants the 2 of them to do it again at his bachelor party coming up on the 25th of April. With the BeanDip's strong voice and background sounds and Mike's blistering guitar riffs, Tuesday night's bachelor party may be the highlite of southsidethis spring. If you can you should come check them out!!  ![]() |
