This month we feature Don Lenschow. You may remember meeting Don at Springthing in Cave City or the Board of Delegates meeting. Don has developed several unique items, here is what he had to say:

The Dun-Rite Tool Company manufactures precision-machined components for optical and medical equipment manufactures. What may be important to you as a Healey owner, are the many hard to find parts we have made over the years. Local members of the North Texas AH Club would ask if I could make this or that part they couldn’t get or could not be bought at a competitive price. I would look at the possible usage and then make a production run. After a few years of this
I had an inventory of parts that I felt could benefit other Healey owners. I also sell to a number of national distributors, so some items may be available from your local Healey parts dealer.
In the late 1970’s I converted my BJ8 to a Delco alternator, I even changed the diodes so it remained a positive ground system. Now I manufacture a hardware kit for the same alternator installation on 6 cylinder Healeys, with instruction for a negative ground system. This makes adding radios, etc. much easier.
A rear main seal kit was developed which uses a modern seal that is retained in a dowel-pinned retainer. This is installed with a fixture that I loan out for installation, best done
when engine is out for a complete over-haul.
Another must have item are the 100 water pump nuts. These are the two nuts on the water pump that you can’t get a wrench on if you try to use a standard nut.
Many of the studs, manifold, exhaust flange, carb. mounting, water pump mounting, etc. are made of stainless steel. This eliminates the rust problems and keeps them looking like new steel ones. I have tried to use the original part number on many of these so they can be found in all parts manuals.
As may be expected this side line is more for fun. It gives me a chance to talk to many Healey owners that otherwise I would never meet.
