Mission & History

Mission Statement

The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Cache Valley is to promote the social, emotional, and physical well being of children ages 5 to 18 through supervised enrichment activities. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Cache Valley offers supervised, safe, and stimulating programs at all of our after-school sites and leadership opportunities for adolescents through our United TEENSupreme Keystone Club and Torch Clubs.

History of the Boys & Girls Club of Cache Valley

The Boys & Girls Club of Cache Valley began in 1993. The Club began as a research project, funded by a Kellogg grant, through the Family and Human Development Department of Utah State University. Initially the Club provided before- and after-school programs at the Elite Hall in Hyrum. The programs offered arts & crafts, cultural diversity experiences, and tutoring. In the second year, the program moved to the Edith Bowen Laboratory School on the Utah State University campus and a second after-school program began at Summit Elementary in Smithfield. Our third program began in January 1997 at Providence Elementary, and our fourth after-school program was started at the Cache Valley Learning Center in the fall of 1997. Our newest site at Hillcrest began its after-school program in February 1999.
