Went into the pro football record books when he scored the first points in American Football League history with a fumble recovery - July 30, 1960. It came during the first quarter of the league's first exhibition game, a 28-7 Patriots victory over host Buffalo Bills. Bob played in the 1961, 1963, 1964, and 1965 All-Star games - as well as the 1963 title game. His number 89 has been retired by the Patriots. Before joining the newborn AFL, Dee had previously played two years in the NFL with the 1957 and 1958 Washington Redskins.

Bob Dee didn't wear a cage facemask. He was a member of the famed Boston defensive front of Dee, Houston Antwine (65), Jim Hunt (79), and Larry Eisenhauer (72) in the mid-1960s.

White rear rubber bumper has been removed and the red stripes have been extended down to neckline. It gives the helmet that authentic "throwback" look.
