Ran the Dolphins inaugural regular season kickoff back 95 yards for a touchdown versus the visiting Oakland Raiders. Previously played with the 1964 Kansas City Chiefs and the 1964-66 Buffalo Bills. Had a pet lion that he raised from a cub while attending Georgia Tech. Loaned it to a circus when Tech officials said "It's either him or us."

Nice clean look of the 1966 Dolphin two-bar helmet. Miami scored it's first American Football League victory over the Denver Broncos.

The Miami Dolphins were the American Football League's only true "expansion team." (The Cincinnati Bengals were added as part of the merger agreement in 1966). Anyway, their logo was a Dolphin jumping thru a hoop. Majority owner Joe Robbie changed the design in 1967.
