"Beauty" hydrangeas (blue ver.) Sept. 2007....scanned just before sunset
"Green Wings"
The delicate lime green tinge on the "Pee-Gee" hydrangea in October is one of my favorite subjects. Rats! Japanese beatles have gotten to my hibiscus again. The skeletonized foliage of host plants can be quite lace-like, becoming an artistic departure from the unmolested leaf.
"Beauty" (Mauve ver.)
The mauve background was scanned just a few minutes after the bluer version. The autumn sun set early, so the sky was darkening by the minute. These unusual muted shades are only possible for a short period just prior to sunset.
