The Elfin Craftsmen Of Blue Lady Hill
About the work: The dolls are approximately 14 inches tall and are the original work of Christine Demarest. Each head is individually sculpted from polymer clays, and then hand painted. The bodies and all outfits are sewn with no unfinished seams, and most edges are finished with a decorative stitch. To see an example of the quality, look at the vest on Dylan the wreath maker. The long-term quality is assured because the attention to detail and perfection extends even to the buttons, which are hand sewn instead of glued. New materials used include high quality wool and cottons, and recycled mink, beaver, rabbit fur for the hats and trim. Each doll is fully wired and weighted so that they become very poseable. Many of the accessories are Christine's original work. The gingerbread men, Samuel's mushrooms and Santa's elves' shoes are made of clay, one at a time without molds.
