I am the State Textbook Coordinator for Humble Independent School District in Humble, Texas.

My goal is to assist you with your textbook questions, problems or concerns. I don't have all of the answers, but I can find someone who does. I will get you in touch with your local organization or someone in your location.

The TCAT Board meets September 23 in Austin. We will be working on the schedule for the December conference. If you have a topic that you would like to present please contact Mike or myself. Watch for another newsletter to come out in October.

Mark your calendar and make plans to attend the 8th Annual TCAT Conference. It will be December 6,7 & 8th 1999. Location will be at the Marriott Capitol in Austin.

EMAT ON-LINE REPORT SCHEDULING & PRINTING TIPS

For Microsoft Internet Explorer

**Please verify that you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 ONLY before scheduling or printing reports. The use of any other internet browser can create major malfunctions with EMAT ON-LINE.**

When scheduling or printing reports throught EMAT On-Line the version of your browser will determine your success or failure. You MUST utilize MS Internet Explorer to schedule and print all reports through EMAT On-Line. If you are currently running MS Internet Explorer it is important that your version is 4.0 ONLY. Do NOT utilize the 5.0 version at this time. If your version is not up to date, you can visit www.microsoft.com for FREE update of MS Internet Explorer.

When scheduling reports through EMAT On-Line you want to go through the report section of EMAT On-Line. It is recommended that you select Info Desktop for HTML to run your reports. To access this part of the of the system you will need to type in ematuser for the username and click connect (no password required at this time). This will take you to a screen that has several options on the left hand side where you will choose the proper folder you wish to access. Once you click on this folder, a screen will appear on the right hand side showing a list of all reports available under this particular folder. Locate the type of report you wish to schedule and click on it. This will highlight that particular report and a white Schedule tab will appear above the list. Click on the schedule tab and a small section will appear on the right hand side that will require you to fill in any needed parameters such as your county district number (sometimes once or start and end) a user-id which is ematuser and a password which is ematxx. After completing the required information you will need to scroll down and click the schedule button to actually schedule this report. Once the report has run you will see a line item reading (success/date/time) that will have your parameters at the end. At this time you can move on to viewing and printing the report.

You have scheduled your report and it has completed successfully. To print your report you have to view it. When viewing/printing reports on EMAT On-Line, you will follow the same steps as scheduling a report by choosing Info Desktop for HTML. Once you find your report as a success and click on it you should check your web access options. To do this click on the Customize WebAccess icon. This icon looks like two boxes with one box containing a red x and the other a green check mark overlapping each other at the top of the window. This will bring up an options page where you need to set the viewer. Click the Viewer link on the left hand side of the page. You should now be positioned at the Viewer options box. Select the Info Viewer for ActiveX option and click OK button on the left had side when done. At this point you can click on the View tab and the report will now be displayed.

To print your report you must use the printer icon that is in the Crystal Viewer and not the printer options within your browser. If you use the printer options that are part of your browser, your report will not print correctly! The Crystal Viewer printer icon is the button with the printer on it that is right above the details of your report. When you click the Crystal Viewer printer icon you will get a Print Dialog Box. If you are printing your districts inventory, you must change the print orientation of the report from portrait to landscape. This is accomplished through the Print Dialog Box. Once you change the orientation of your report, click OK and your report will be routed to your local default printer.

If you would like to schedule other reports, you must return to Seagate Software page where you can select your next report to schedule. To do this you must use the browser back button. If you click on the 'x' in the upper right hand of the browser where your current report is displaying, you will exit out completely from Crystal and will have to re-login.

Good Luck and Happy Printing!
