My AncestorsI have found members of the DeHority family as early as 1720 in Maryland. At that time, the name had a variety of spellings, with some branches using Daugherty, Dehorty, and, of course, DeHority. From Maryland, the family went into Delaware, and from there north through Ohio, west through Kentucky, and continued the migration as far as the West Coast.

My Current ResearchCurrently, I am anxious to find the parents of James Madison DeHority, who was born in Delaware in 1819, migrated to Indiana where he married Susannah Hoffman in Fayette County, Indiana, in 1838, and settled in Elwood, Indiana, where he died in 1891.
