They say hindsight is 20/20. Looking back, my life was filled with many obstacles and things, but I never gave up. If a kind hand was offered, I always accepted, sometimes the hand would then turn mean, but I still never gave up my faith and love for people. I loved to spend time with my family. I loved playing catch and was a GREAT soccer player!! I enjoyed chasing the squirells as they ran overhead on the electric lines.
Here I am taste "testing" Dad's barbecue to make sure it is okay for my kids to eat. Too many "table" foods are not good for dogs or cats, so I only got them sparingly. Food wasn't always so easy or good though, before my new family came, dinner was usually whatever I could find. A good quality dry dog food and/or canned is BEST for us dogs. The nutritional needs of an animal are different than human needs.
My friends Nono and Smoky would like to tell you to please get your pets spayed or neutered. Too many of us and our offspring are killed in shelters, starve on the streets, and are unwanted. In just 5 years..2 normal healthy dogs or cats who have just 2 kittens or puppies survive from a litter in one year, then each have their own litter with 2 survivors can produce 12,288 more cats/dogs in that 5 years. There are many places that will spay or neuter for a very low cost and sometimes even free charge, for those who have limited income. Your local animal shelter or vet can tell you more on that.
We also will live longer, happier healthier lives being "fixed". I don't know why people call it that..it isn't like we're broken or anything.
For those of you who haven't met, my family adopted me, and I adopted Smoky as a kitten. How many dogs do you know who have their own cat? We played a lot chasing each other and enjoyed napping in the sunshine together, or trying to catch butterflies.
Mom put this in here as I loved flowers and greenery. They were delicious and great chew toys, she wants to remind you that there are MANY plants, shrubs and insecticides that are toxic and sometimes fatal to pets. Even some insects and things like toads can make us very ill if eaten.
