Experience the quietude of cattle grazing, tree-lined lakes, and rustling pasture grasses.Take a walk in the cool depths of the woods, fish the ponds for bluegill and bass, or visit the family homestead and see Mrs. Mumford's naturally colored Jacob sheep.
Night brings the chirping of crickets, fireflies, and an unbelievable display of stars in the country darkness from the cabin's lakefront deck or a walk down the private lane. Also available are great spots for picnics and bonfires, or you might be interested in a farm tour. A day trip to nearby New Harmony gives you a chance to explore the town's utopian history in a lovely setting of biodynamic gardens and architectural wonders.
When you come to Cholpe House, you rent the whole house, which is fully furnished and can accomodate up to six people. Quilts, antiques, and comfortable furniture beckon you to "cozy up" in front of the fireplace on chilly evenings. All kitchen appliances, cooking utensils, china, refrigerator, stove, microwave, as well as a washer & dryer and gas grill are provided. Clean linens & fresh flowers await your arrival. A high chair & crib are available upon request. And a lavish supply of breakfast food, coffee, and juice fills the refrigerator for you to fix at your leisure on your schedule.
