Helpful tips on hair care....

Shower caps - Work wonders for conditioning treatments, they also help keep natural hair, Lace Fronts and weaves dry during hydro thearpy, bath/shower.

Silk & Satin - Bonnets stay in place best during rest time, satin pillow cases help maintain moisture balance and keep natural hair from appearing dull, and Lace Front Wigs and weaves from tangeling and matting. While a smooth wrap will stay in place better with a silky scarf. So trade in your cotton nightcaps for softer shinier hair .

Brushes- The battery operated massage type feel great, and they help  improve circulation, the soft boar bristle type are good for smoothing your hairline, ponytails, and unruly locks, try using a plastic brush with coated tips to minimize hair loss from natural hair and weaves and Lace Front wigs when hair is wet.

Combs- The wider & rotating teeth type help remove tangles from Natural hair, Lace Front Wigs and Weaves with ease, use the small tooth ratail ones for setting, smoothing and where more control is needed, the hard rubber brands are the most durable.

Rollers- Avoid the unprotected sponge type, they zap moisture. The smooth plastic type with snap over tops are best for home sets, wet or dry. A quick way to set your hair is to place rollers in a plastic bowl with water deep enough to cover all rollers, heat in microwave oven until warm flick each roller to remove excess H2O before you set hair, as the rollers cool off your hair should set well enough to have curls that last you throughout the day. Try rods for a tighter curl, they come in many sizes and types  giving a longer lasting curl. Wired bendable, mesh, or  smooth silky fabric covered rollers, when used with end wraps make great spiral curls and tighter sets. Roller setting helps preserve your style and protect hair from possible heat damage. Add a dap of setting lotion or cream to help hair adhere to rollers and end wraps with ease .

Regular Trims- Help maintain curls longer, prevent split ends from proceeding up the hairs shaft, and keeps hair healthy. A trim should be administered when ever necessary. Up to a 1/4 inch is all that should be needed, When you have ends trimmed on a regular basis. Every 6 to 8 weeks and no longer then 10 weeks.

Using Hair Oil- That is pore clogging, petroleum, menerial or bees wax based is a sure way to build up, a heavy coating that prevents suitable growth,  healthy scalp and flowing bouncy curls in Lace Front Wigs and weaves.

Gels- Never use a gel on your Lace Front Wigs, Weave hair or if your natural hair is brittle, for many hair types it can be an aid to the maintaining a lasting style. Any alcohol above 10% in volume for the dabbing type gels,  40% in volume for spray type gels can cause severe dryness and a dull finish to your hair. With no more then a minimal % of  alcohol it will vanish into thin air before it can penetrate your hairs shaft. This is best for healthy natural hair. For the timid, you can buffer dryness with a natural oil or slippery base product.  For more shine and softness apply these before you apply the gel. or try the all in one type they may feel a little heavier, just use a lot less.  A leave - in conditioner before you gel can also act as a buffer for those with more porous hair if your using gel on a regular basis.
