Nuestra Marisol es una mujer muy generosa que contribuye a causas beneficas a menudo. Pepa se dejo entrevistar recien para una de sus causas y tambien es Vice Presidenta de la Fundacion Augusto Sandino en Espana que ayuda a obras de construcccion,educacion y caridad en Nicaragua. Recien presto su nombre para ayudar a la protesta del bombardeo de la Marina estadounidense en la isla puertorriquena de Vieques. Pepa Flores tambien contribuyo su voz para lanzar el primer disco de la cantante Aurora Guirado. En planes, Pepa tomara parte en una serie musical a beneficio De ONG Musicos sin Fronteras para un program de pintura de colegios y edificiones en La Habana.
English translation
Our Marisol is a very generous woman who often contributes to needy causes. Pepa let herself be interviewed recently for one of these causes and also she is Vice President of the Foundation Augusto Sandino in Spain that helps with works of construction, education and charity in Nicaragua. She recently lent her name to help the protest of the bombing by the US Navy of the Puerto rican island of Vieques. Pepa Flores also contributed her voice to to help launch the first recording of the singer Aurora Guirado.
In future plans, Pepa will take part in a musical series to benefit ONG Musiccians without Borders for a program of painting of schools and historic buildings in Havana, Cuba.

¡Qué me iba a imaginar yo! que en mi vida iba a estar
hablando con la persona que representó mis ilusiones de
infancia y adolescencia, aquella mujer que llenaba mis dias con
sus canciones, presencia y ojos azules: Marisol. Pues, hicimos
amistad vía telefónica, y como ella promueve y apoya
las causas sociales, le pedí que me apoyara el movimiento
por liberación de la Isla de Vieques, Puerto Rico,
escribiendo un mensaje de solidaridad para que la marina de los
Estados Unidos deje de bombardear la isla y se vaya de
allí. Ella, con muchísimo gusto accedió a mi
petición y envío a través de facsímil su
mensaje a puño y letra, el cual salió publicado en uno
de los periódicos más leídos del país.
Esta acción de Pepa me llenó de orgullo y
satisfacción porque comprobé que su celo por la
justicia social es verdadero.
English Translation
Many years ago I couldn't imagine that one day I would be talking
with my childhood and adolescent idol, the woman that fulfill my
life with her songs, her presence and her blue eyes: Marisol. We
started a friendship through phone calls and that is still going on,
and because I knew that she was a supporter of the cause of
social justice, I asked her to support our Puerto Rican movement
against the US marine's presence in the Island of Vieques, Puerto
Rico. She was very kind to accept it and sent me a fax with her
written message that was later appeared in one of the most read
newspapers of the island. This made me feel satisfied and proud of
her. It also proves that her zeal for social justice is REAL.
