The Gift of Morpheus
Items Needed:
Lavender,
Valerian,
Mugwort,
Meadowsweet,
2" x 4" piece of Cloth,
Needle and Thread
This spell promotes divinatory dreams.
Facing the East, the realm of thought and intuition call to Morpheus (alternatively the
Goddess or for those who insist on being Celtic either Anawn or Oghma).
"Morpheus, dream-weaver, lord of the twilight realms,
I call upon your aid and benison in this undertaking."
Turn then to the West, the realm of deep mysteries, emotions and the unknown and
repeat the summons. Finally turn (deosil) to the North for a final summoning. Allow
Morpheus to enter the circle and welcome him.
Spread the cloth out upon the altar and sprinkle a little lavender over one half of the cloth and visualize a warm and peaceful feeling of rest. Then take a little of the valerian and visualize yourself curled up asleep while you add that to the lavender.
Next add a little Mugwort and focus upon questions you want answered or something that is troubling you which you wish resolved.
Finally add the Meadowsweet and if you have a guardian spirit or guide
visualize her/him watching over you. Folding the cloth over stitch around the edge to
hold in the herbs. Place the pillow of herbs under your pillow when you sleep and you
should gain guidance in your dreams.
You may use any cloth, white muslim being one of the most logical choices as it will not impede the infusion of the herbs.
TO DREAM OF THE FUTURE SPELL
Dream divination is the power to see the future and enhance clairvoyance through dreaming. To forsee an event in the future through a dream, try this powerful dream ritual.
Items Needed:
square of pale blue cloth
ash leaves
bay leaves
cinquefoil
heliotrope
holly
jasmine flowers
marigold flowers
mimosa
mugwort
onion
yarrow
ribbon long enough to tie ingredients into cloth
white paper and writing implement
dream journal
Decide what subject your prophetic/psychic dream will be about:
Does it involve you, or someone else?
What is the subject you need information on? (Money, love, etc.)
How far or near in the future do you wish to see?
Do you have a specific question to ask, or just a general topic?
How do you want the question answered- by a guide, symbols, emotions, etc.? Once you are sure you know what exactly the prophetic dream should be able, you can gather your items and prepare your working. Lay out a square of pale blue cloth. In the middle, places a mixture of ash leaves, bay leaves, cinquefoil, heliotrope, holly, jasmine flowers, marigold flowers, mimosa, mugwort, onion, and/or yarrow (however many you can find). Bring the corners towards the middle and tie it all together like a small bag with a string, ribbon, or piece of yarn. Then, on a white piece of paper, briefly explain what you need to see in the dream, using the guideline above to tell the main ideas/questions you need prophecies about. Place the herbal bag and the note beneath your pillow, and make sure you record your dream in a notebook or journal as soon as you awake, so you do not forget it! Be wise and use what you learn to prepare you for the future!
Dream Spell:
1 amethyst Rock (chunk)
1 rose pedal (pink or red)
1 lock of hair
Place the amethyst next to your bed before sleep. Place the
rose pedal on top of the amethyst. Place one lock of hair (from
the person you wish to dream about) on top of the rose pedal.
Say aloud:
"I wish I dream of (persons name) tonite."
If you wish for that person to dream of you than place one lock of
your own hair next to theirs on top of the amethyst. Say aloud:
"I wish (persons name) dreams of me tonite."
Then lay down and fall asleep.
(dont forget to charge the rose pedal, and the amethyst)
A Spell to Remember Dreams
Items Needed:
A blue or purple stone set in jewelry that can be worn to bed.
A blank piece of paper.
A blue ink pen (not ballpoint).
Draw an EYE on the paper with the blue ink.
Touch the stone to the center of the eye.
"My dreams are sacred to me.
Keep them for me that I might remember them."
Wear the stone to bed with you.
Spell to overcome nightmares
Items Needed:
A small carving or other image of a bear.
Place the image of the bear under your pillow before going to sleep.
Chant the following:
"Take away the nightmare madness,
and bring deep slumber in it's place."
Repeat as needed while concentrating on the nightmare.
Dream Protection Spell
Items Needed:
1 tablespoon of lemon juice (or another fruit juice)
1 tablespoon of sea salt
1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
1 light weight cauldron (a glass bowl works too)
1 piece of paper
1 black pen
2 black or red candles (1 of each works best)
Mix the lemon juice, sea salt, and oil into your cauldron. Place the
cauldron in front of you on the floor. Sit comfortably and place the
candles beside the cauldron (red on left, black on right.) Rip the piece
of paper in half then set it aside.
Light both candles, left one first. Now close your eyes and visualize a
sphere. In the middle of the sphere, visualize yourself stuck inside,
trying to get out. See the black and red candles burning around you. Watch
as the candles spin around you, getting faster each time they pass. Then
see yourself magically being released. On one piece of paper, draw a
picture of what you saw. On the other, write down your biggest fear. Light
both pieces of paper on fire, using the black for the written half, red
for the drawing. Then throw them into your cauldron. Take the cauldron
outside and pour it (paper and all) into a hole in the ground. Cover the
hole with dirt. The spell is done.
