Hi,
My name is Juan Bernal. I have been teaching / tutoring in ASL for over 10 years.
I can help you outside the classroom for those of you in I.T.P.s. or if you've already graduated from ITP and want to brush up for Interpreter Certification Tests. Help reinforce and expand on vocabulary, grammar and language functions. Learn about Deaf Culture. Practice fingerspelling and receptive skills. Incorporate facial expressions into your signing. etc. Any area you would you like improvement! One on One, Mentoring, Observation, or just "chat" for practice!

Tutoring I charge $25 an hour if you come to my house.
If you want tutoring with a friend, I can tutor 2 students for $30 an hour.
If I drive to your house $30 an hour (within 30 miles of Foster / Western Ave. in Chicago
I don’t have classes unless a group is formed and they contact me. Ex: parents group, church group, neighborhood, college students, etc. Groups up to 5 students is $40 an hour, students up to 10 (max) $50 for the hour.
I teach a variety of subjects among sign language. Ex: deaf culture, finger spelling, facial expressions, idioms, history, chatting for practice, receptive and expressive skills, interaction with deaf, working with deaf-blind people, etc.
If you are interested in tutoring,, I would make an assessment of your skill level and we could put together a plan of what you wanted to learn, and where to start! :)
