Status, Updates, and General Rambling

Well, looks like I got caught with my pants down this year. (That's just a figure of speech, by the way). What I mean is, there has already been a few days this year that it would have been nice to take a ride, which is fine, except for one small problem. My bike is nowhere near ready to ride! All the body work is off, headlight assembly, brackets, tank, steering damper.......you get the picture. Don't worry, it's not crash repair. At least not this time. I am preparing all the body work for a fresh coat of paint. The brightest yellow I can find. Prior to doing that, I filled in the front turn signal holes (more on that later), and have to finish getting them smoothed out and ready for paint. I am almost ready to get the paint, and take the stuff to my friend who is doing the paint work for me. As soon as I get it put back together, I'll try to get some pics of it. It should be unique. As for the front turn signals, they are now in the ram air ducts, tucked in out of harms way. Remember, my airbox mod rendered the ducts useless anyway, so it don't matter. I'll be fabricating new lenses and mounts for inside the carbon-looking piece. I haven't fully got that part figured out yet, but it shouldn't be too bad. It should give it a nice integrated look when I'm done. Well, that's about all for now. Until next time, keep the shiny side up!

Finally. I got my paint/primer/reducer/hardener that I've been waiting to get. (The income tax return finally came). I also got the body panels the way I want them to be. My front signal holes are all nice and smooth now, and my tank is ready too. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be waiting for another week yet, because my friend who's doing the painting is in Daytona this week. Must be nice, huh? I'm really starting to miss out on some mileage, it's about 70 degrees here right now. Oh well. I'll catch up. Later!

Haven't had an update in a while, been alot going on. Well, it's back on the road! Paint came out good, and so did the custom front turn signals. I took a few pictures of it, but I haven't gotten them developed yet. I also took a few pictures of my airbox, so I can clarify the mods for a few folks. My next step will be to have some vinyl graphics made to replace the stock stickers. Then I think it will be pretty much done. For the time being, that is. See ya'.

Sorry I haven't been in touch in a while, been kinda busy. I haven't really done much serious riding this year yet either. Bummer. Unfortunately, I still haven't got the pictures developed yet. I'll get them here when I do. Soon I'll have more pics to snap, as I am planning on having the vinyl graphics cut and applied, either later today, or tomorrow morning. They had to special order the one color, so there was a bit of a delay. I'm looking forward to the end of August. It'll be our annual pilgrimage to Pocono Raceway for the Cycle Festival. I think this year, though, they went back to calling it the "Pocono Cycle Jam", like they used to. Always a good time. If you have the chance, I highly recommend getting there for the festivities. Gary Rothwell, British stunt rider extrordinaire will be there, as well as the various racing classes they have, and all the vendors in the pit area, selling parts, clothing, etc. I'ts just a blast. Tickets are $35.00 each, and that gets you into the track, infield, pits, and all, and they are good for the whole weekend. They are available at Ticket Master. Check it out! See ya!
