*TIP ON HOW TO COOK PASTA
1 quart of hot tap water
1 tespoon of salt
8 ounces vermicelli (thin spaghetti)
1 cup of broccoli flowerets
1 cup of cauliflower flowerets
4 ounces fresh mushrooms,cleaned and sliced lengthwise
1 small zucchini,sliced
3/4 cup of cooked ham strips
1/2 cup of whipping cream
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon choped chives
1/4 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Dash of ground nutmeg
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
Combine water an salt in a two quart glass measuring pitcher.Cover with plastic wrap. Heat in microwave oven to boiling (about 12 minutes at high).
Add vermiceli to boiling wter;stir. Cook covered in microwave oven 6 minutes at high.
Remove from oven and let stand covered 5 minutes,drain.
Meanwhile,put vegetables into a two quart glass measuring pitcher. Cover with plastic wrap. Cook in microwave oven 6 minutes at high; stir once.
Add ham to cooked begetable;stir. Let stand covered while preparing sauce.
Combine cream,butter,chives,basil,pepper and nutmeg in a one quart glass measuring cup. Cook uncovered 3 minutes on high, stir once.
Add vegetables and ham to drained vermicelli. Add sauce and chesse toss until coated. 6 servings
