AMMONIA MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH!
Ammonia in its various forms is used in perms, color, bleaches, hair straighteners, shampoos, body washes, bubble bath, dish washing detergents, cleaning solutions, and is also used in the manufacturing of explosives. It is extremely toxic when inhaled in concentrated vapors, and is irritating to the eyes, hands, and mucous membranes. It may cause hair breakage. In strong solution, it can cause burns and blistering.
Aqua ammonia in contact with the skin irritates and burns may occur.
As a result of direct contact with aqua ammonia or exposure to ammonia gas, you may experience eye irritation and lacrimation up to severe injury and blindness. Ingestion may cause severe pain in the mouth, chest, and abdomen, leading to cough, vomiting and collapse. Gastric or eosophageal perforation may occur and lung irritation or edema may occur as a delayed effect.
