The Cadillac trip:
On Friday night the group was a bit seperated. Bob, Angus & Jeff were in Cadillac, while Fish, Archie, Kevin & Brad stayed in Sugar springs for the night. While the Sugar springs boys downed a few brewski's the Cadillac dawgz went out for a ride and blew up a Ski-doo. This put a damper on Jeff's weekend.
Saturday the Dawgz got together and made a run around Cadillac over to Manistee. On the way back a bit of a freak problem occured with Big-Dawg Bob's sled (Polaris). He hit the brakes hard on a icy road and the chain broke through the housing. we were able to tow him back to the Bar in Manistee. Jeff & and Archie offered to stay there while we went back to get the Truck and Trailer. When Bob & Angus returned to pick up the sleds they mentioned that Jeff and Arch seemed a bit different. they had big smiles on their faces, and spoke with more of a southern draw, and mumbled somthing about the Daytona 500 a few dozen times. "They seemed a bit liquored up" said Angus.
Sunday we (Fish, Kev, Arch, Angus, & Gadget) cruised into Cadillac and rode the Lakes both Mitchell and Cadillac. This gave us an opportunity to Run the sleds and see who had what.
There seems to be a bit of a discrepency but a non biased source (Angus on a Yamaha) said the Firecats smoked the Polaris 800's. One an XCR triple and the other a XC twin.
I sum it up like this. The Firecats were hooking up out of the hole better which is a bit strange cause niether is studded but must be because of the deep lug track (both Polaris 800's were studded). After about a 1/4 mile the Poo-laris seem to be catching up and if we continued across the lake would have probably caught and passed the Firecats. The conditions were a bit bumpy on the Lake so we didn't really keep em pinned for more than a 1/2 mile.
I better mention that when we were out on the Lake there was some wrench turning on Brads XCR. Seems all the bolts mounting his new M-10 were coming lose. (Polaris problem #2)
