Erika Gibbs

|
Ms. Gibbs graduated from Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, Colorado, USA in May of this year. She is attending college at Red Rocks Community College. As an AIDS educator and activist for youth, she organized and led her high school's AIDS Walk Team for the annual fundraiser from 1998-2001. She participated in the Colorado Women's Foundation Voices Carry leadership development program from 1998-2000, speaking publicly on issues of concern to young women and now serves as youth advisor to their board of directors. She speaks at schools, conferences & elsewhere on AIDS in Africa. She recently spoke on a panel for a PBS television broadcast entitled, "Respect Me" and was featured in a documentary about women leaders of Colorado. As associate producer, Ms. Gibbs brings global youth perspectives and issues to the forefront of projects undertaken amd oversees the Youth Team. She was awarded a scholarship to attend the 13th International AIDS Conference in South Africa, where she participated in youth sessions.

Ms. Herman is a Women's Human Rights Consultant specializing in bilateral partnering for cultural exchange and social change. Involved with civil society women’s organizations, governments, non-governmental organizations, academia, United Nations agencies, businesses/corporations to create partnerships that lead to social justice, women’s empowerment and human rights. She provides consulting services in 15 countries on five continents. She earned her BS Magna Cum Laude from Purdue University and conducted post-graduate study in Marketing at the Graduate School of Business Administration at New York University.

Warren Parker

Warren Parker is the Director of Cadre in Johannesburg, South Africa. His masters thesis completed in the early 1990s focused on participatory media development for HIV/AIDS with youth in disadvantaged contexts. He has worked and consulted for various non-governmental organisations and government in the development and HIV/AIDS fields and more recently was campaign manager of the national Beyond Awareness Campaign, a multimillion rand, multiyear HIV/AIDS campaign of the Department of Health. Over the past decade his work has included conducting a wide range of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS communications activities including national advertising campaigns, development of core small media resource materials, and development of national HIV/AIDS projects including expansion of the AIDS Helpline and development of the AIDS Action Office, AIDS Memorial Quilt project, Living Openly project, and Mediaworkers project. He has also published and presented locally and internationally, with particular emphasis on concepts of communications and behaviour change.He's earned a B. Journ. and BA (hons), MA (Cultural and Media studies), Dip. Adult Ed.
