At this time in my journey, my garden begins in Louisa and Orange Counties of Virginia. Surnames BIBB, FEARNYHOUGH, GRUBBS, HALL, HARRIS, HORD, LEE, LOCKER, MOORE, PARRISH, PORTER, SANNER, SMITH, STITCHER, STITZER, TUEL(L), and others are from the seeds that have procreated the garden that includes my two brothers and me. Blending together genetically, that which makes us short or tall, small or large, blue, green, or hazel eyed, they have grown Glynda's Garden. Of course, every garden has a few wild flowers, and, maybe, even a few weeds. Nonetheless, a rose by any other name is just as fragrant, and family is still family.

In the beginning of this garden, Mr. Josiah C. SANNER married Rebecca C. PORTER in 1825, the same year he was granted a license for a tavern in Louisa County, Virginia. Their children included Maryeto (Marietta), Frances, James H., Elizabeth, Charles Henry, Joseph, John C., and Louisa.

One of his sons, Mr. Charles Henry "Pappy" SANNER married Amanda "Mandy" PARRISH ( d. abt. 1924), who had a spinster sister, Mary. Pappy's children include:

The Sanner Family Cemetery, located off of Mountain Track Road in Orange County, Virginia is the final resting place for Pappy and Mandy, her sister Mary Porter, Jim (James), Emma, Charles W., George and Lillie, a son, Floyd Carroll ,and two of their daughters, Mary Arlene and Barbara Ellen. Others are unknown at this time, including two with surnames of Grubbs.

Lena's parents were Lenie LOCKER and William T. MOORE, of Orange County, Virginia. Their children included Lena and her twin brother, "Bud," who married Laura TRAINUM, (sister of George Trainum), and another daughter, Hattie, who married (1) WILLIAMS , (2) BYBEE. Lena and Bud were born 6 Mar 1874, in Orange. Lena died 21 Apr 1956 at her daughter's home in Orange, Virginia.

While Lena was a little girl, Lenie Locker MOORE was widowed, and later she married Garrett SMITH. Their children included John, Eppa, Garrett, Mattie, and Cleo Sunina "Duckie." Duckie marred Mr. FARMER. She had one son, Roy, who married and had one daughter.

Lena married Mr. STOKES and they had one son, Ernest (Pat). Lena was widowed, and subsequently married James Rudolph SANNER, with whom she had two daughters. Mazie Lee SANNER married Jack Wilson STITCHER , son of Ray Vernon STITCHER (John William Stitzer, Addison, William) and Mamie HARRIS. They had four children: including a son, Jacklyn, who died as an infant.
