Baby Bonnet
Rnd 1: Ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across to last, 3 sc in last, working on opposite side of foundation chain, sc across, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 2: Sc in 7, 2 sc in 5, sc in 7, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 3: Sc in 9, 2 sc in 6, sc in 9, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 4: Sc around, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 5: Sc in 10, 2sc in 10, sc in 10, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 6: Rep rnd 4.
Rnd 7: Sc in 12, (2sc in next, sc in next) 8 times, sc in 12, ch 1 turn.
Rnd 8: In front loops sc around, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 9: (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in 1st sc, *sk 2 sc, (sc, ch 3. dc) rep * around, sk 3 sc for last shell, sc, ch 1, turn. (15 shells).
Rnd 10-14: In 1st sc, * (sc , ch 3, 3 dc) rep * in every chain space around, ch 1 turn.
Rnd 15: * sc in sc, sc in each of next 3 dc, sk next ch-sp, rep * to last shell, (of lower round) skip ch-sp, sc in sc, sc in next 3 dc, sc in ch-sp, do not finish off. (you will pick up again later if using contrasting colors.)
Trim (Contrasting colors if used)
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, sc around crown, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 2: In back loops sc around, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 3: Sk 1st sc, sc in next, *ch 2, sk next sc, sc in next, rep * around, do not finish off. (if using contrasting colors you will pick up again later.)
Neck
Rnd 1: Evenly, sc about 39 around neck with main color, ch 1 turn.
Rnd 2: With contrasting color (if used) Skip 1st sc, sc, *skip sc , sc, rep * around, ch 1 turn.
Rnd 3: Sc in next sc, {ch 50, sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc across, (this is the tie) sl st to same stitch as first sc,} sc around neck to other side then rep { }. Finish off.
Trim on back of bonnet
If using contrasting colors, sl st, sc in unworked sts on back of bonnet, sl st finish off.
