INSTRUCTIONS
- Trace an outline of the body onto the wood and use the saw
to cut it out.
- Sand the body to remove the saw marks and round the edges.
- Use a 17/64 inch drill bit (or 9/32 in.) to drill the two axle
holes. They are located 3/4 in. in from the front of the car, 5/8
in. in from the back of the car, and 1/4 in. up from the bottom.
- Cut the axles to length.
- Assemble the axles in the axles holes and glue on the wheels.
- When the glue has dried, ensure all wheels still turn freely
and can not be pulled off the body. Check for rough spots and
sand if necessary.
- Apply mineral oil to the wood and let it absorb overnight.
Mineral oil is used because it is an eatable oil so there is no
harm if a child puts the toy in its mouth. It is available
in drug stores.
