Laney is a native of South Carolina and has been performing on stage since childhood -- with her theatrical debut at age 6 as "Marta" in The Sound of Music. She began vocal training under Christian recording artist, Arlene Puryear, of The Scurry Sisters. She also trained classically at Newberry College and went on to study at Furman University and Coker College, where she was a 1st Soprano with the elite Coker Singers and a member of the Broadway-style musical theatre troupe.

Laney's greatest style influences are Sandi Patty and SC's own, Dawn Smith-Jordan. As a vocal coach, she focuses on tone, diction, pronunciation, breathing, & vocal exercises. She has coached many talent and pageant winners and continues to help many others refine their vocal gift.

In the SPOTLIGHT!

Laney has performed all over the Southeast from Walt Disney World, Opryland, SC State Fair, and on Carnival & Premier cruise lines, as well as singing for organizations such as American Legion, Farm Bureau, 4-H, and NAACP. She also enjoys entertaining at numerous church, school, pageant, & civic events. During the Christmas season, Laney volunteers her talent at many nursing homes across SC. She founded "Spotlight Performing Arts Camp for Kids" in 2001 and also currently serves as Music Director for Palmetto Girls State.
