Big Creek

Big Creek – This is a rather new camp located near Hartshorn, Missouri, Camp at N37o 23.45, W91o 36.67. Bubba and company provides some great riding in the Mark Twain National Forest. In 2001 they still didn’t have a trail map so we made our own as we explored. In 2002 the water was really high and we only crossed the creek once all week. In 2003 we had an outstanding week in May. The dining is pretty good as is the evening entertainment. The campsites are a little tight for those of us with the bigger rigs. They do have 50 amp electrical and water service to each site. The stalls are covered and water is available at each one. No need to lug buckets any distance or run several hundred feet of hose. In the springtime the ticks are everywhere.

Not all of the days are filled with sunshine. Soon after the riders left camp the skys opened up. The riders were back in camp in less than 20 minutes.

"Baba" was our trail boss and operates the camp and trail ride. He is a fun guy. His dad also guides.
