Prairie Du Chien

This camp is on the southeast corner of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin at N43o 1.730 – W91o 6.130. A horseman’s club that has done an outstanding job operates it. There are actually two campgrounds with random parking. Some electricity is available and water. The trails are worked on each spring and as needed during the summer. Camping fees are unique. Donations are accepted and we usually drop in an amount equal to what we pay across the river a few miles at Yellow River State Forest. Wisconsin does have some unique rules on trailering that you may want to check on. All trails are primitive and appropriate not only for beginners and novices, but some can challenge the experienced riders. The trails are through wooded areas and through large open fields. A couple of places are nice to visit. The children’s camp is one nice spot for a break. From the you can ride to an Elk farm.

The trails are both wooded and open. At one point you can see for miles along a power line.
