Welcome to the Gallup Composite Squadron of the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol (CAP). There a many other websites that explain what the CAP is and what it is not, so to save space, for more information on what the CAP is all about, please check out the The Civil Air Patrol Information Page, or the National CAP Headquarters Website or the New Mexico Wing Website.
The Gallup Composite is headquartered in Gallup, NM and has weekly meetings on Thursday nights at at 6:30pm at the Gallup Airport. Check our other website at www.gallupcap.com for the exact time, date, location of the next meeting or event as well as which uniform should be worn and/or what equipment needs to be brought to meetings and events.
We are always looking for few good cadets who are motivated about their future and wish to learn more about aviation/aerospace, emergency services (search and rescue, disaster relief and emergency shelter operations), leadership and a whole bunch of other topics.
We also need more adult members (age 18+) to help! No previous military experience is required. What is required is a desire to work with the youth of our nation and serving our country and community in a positive way. We currently have several vacant volunteer positions in the following areas: Administration, Logistics, Aircraft pilots and Aircrew, Ground Search and Rescue & Emergency Service Officers as well as many other areas of interest. If you are interested and would like more information, please free to send us an e-mail to GallupCAP@aol.com . That e-mail address is usually checked several times a day (unless the webmaster is out of town). Please include your name, phone number and the best time to call and we will be sure to contact you as soon as possible... OR you can call (505) 879-2144 and leave a message with our First Aid and CPR Training Agency and one of our Emergency Services Partners, First2Aid. (www.first2aid.com). They will be sure that the right people get the message. PLEASE be sure to speak slowly, loudly and give your name, telephone number (with area code) and best time to call.
Members (Cadets, Seniors & Parents) should read this entire site OFTEN (at least 2 or 3 times a week) and again just before a meeting or event to get the most updated info. Changes are often found in the middle of the site and in order to find them you have to LQQK for them.
There are also several links in this site and they are colored and underlined. To make the link work, all you have to do is click on the colored and underlined words and it should take you where you want to go. The links are checked often to make sure they work and they should take you to the place you need to be. If they don't take you there, try refreshing a couple times to make sure its not your connection. If the link still does not work, let us know at GallupCAP and we will try to fix it. ALL MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SEND GALLUPCAP AN E-MAIL SO YOU CAN BE INCLUDED IN OUR MAILING LIST SO YOU WON'T MISS IMPORTANT EVENTS. If you don't have an e-mail address and would like one, go to hotmail or yahoo and sign up for a FREE e-mail account.
There is really NO EXCUSE why each member does not have their own e-mail address.
If you have no clue about computers or the Internet, or would like to know more, check out this website. It is a very cool place to learn about computers and the net. It is a very simple study site.
