About the Group

The Big Easy Jazz Ambassadors is a travel club open to anyone interested in foreign travel, New Orleans music & culture, or in just plain having fun! You do NOT have to be a musician! Singles, couples, and families are welcome, and flights can be arranged from anywhere in the United States and Canada. Everyone meets at a designated U.S.gateway airport and flies to Europe together. (We can set up your first-leg flight as well.) Our youngest traveler so far was 13 (a member's grandson) and the oldest was a spry 88. We have a ball!

Where and How We Travel

We have already traveled to Scotland, Ireland, England, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, but we're not finished yet! We travel once or twice every year. Also, after you travel with us, you're an "alumni." We have "reunions" each year when not traveling! When we do travel, we take first-class trips that are always at least $500 less than normal because of the band's participation in different music festivals or concerts. Non-musicians get the option to "second-line" behind the band wearing Mardi Gras masks and throwing beads that we'll furnish! The entire group is treated as celebrities instead of tourists, which makes for a unique travel experience!!

Our next scheduled trip is a nine-day visit to Madrid, Spain, from 12/29/08-1/6/09. We'll also visit Toledo, El Escorial, and Valle de Los Caidos. The band will perform on "Kings' Day" (January 5) in conjunction with the historic Cabalgata de Reyes parade. We are one of only two American groups invited to perform. Non-musicians may participate in the festivities by throwing Mardi Gras beads to the Spaniards or they may simply have free time. Cost of the nine-day, seven-night trip is $3045 and includes
