As you consider taking your child back for a homeland trip to China, we would like to extend an invitation to you to join us in Jiangsu Province during the summer of 2007. We would love to share with your child the China that we and our children love!
Our homeland tours are sensitive to the emotional needs of children returning to China. We offer a trip that addresses those needs while helping children to feel welcomed and connected to their country of birth. We understand, as China adoption professionals for the past 11 years, and as parents of children from China, the complex emotions and questions that can arise as you contemplate such a trip. Your family will be supported before, during, and after the trip by receiving individual guidance and the opportunity to attend pre and post travel workshops.
Your stay with us can begin in Beijing or Nanjiing. In Beijing, your tour will be more traditional, and you will be escorted to many of the wonderful sights and treats the city offers, including the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, hutongs and markets. All meals, entrance fees, and guide service will be included. From Beijing, ride the plush, overnight train to Nanjing. Rise at dawn to view rural China roll by....farms, villages, willow groves, bridges, and the local people.
If your child is from the Nanjing orphanage, a vist there is built into the week's activities. If she/he was from a different Jiangsu orphanage, a visit can be arranged.
If you decide to join us, be prepared to have fun! From our office in Nanjing, Sun Lu has lined up some memorable activities for the children in Jiangsu Province....teapot making, brush painting, paper cutting, visits to local sights and markets, a full day in the ancient water city of Zhouzhuang, and a full day and night to explore glittering Shanghai! We'll go on early morning walks through the neighborhoods of Nanjing, stroll the Shanghai Bund at night, and sample local specialties. The activities will vary from week to week, but they will be wonderful!
Bring your sense of adventure, your sense of humor, and a willingness to experience life in China in a less structured, more relaxed manner. Be prepared for an enriching experience for your child, for she or he will encounter daily life experiences, new friends, and memories to cherish.
If you simply want to add on a visit to any Jiangsu orphanage as part of an extended China trip, we can help with that too. We can make all the arrangements ahead of time, and provide you wth an English speaking escort.
If you wish to travel in Jiangsu independently, we can arrange for individual guide service by the day.
Visits can be arranged at any time of the year to your child's orphanage anywhere in China.
