The idea: To cover the lights on the front of our garage, and give it a spooky look.
The wood is brown hardboard. I soaked it in water and then clamped it between two boards to get the curve. |

|
I cut some 1x1 and screwed the hard board to them to keep the cuved shape. The top 1x1 is used to hang the mask on the light. The black lines are a sketch of the face to be cut out. |

The eyes and mouth have been cut out. The eye cut outs were used to make eyebrows and glued above the eyes. Another piece for the nose, and two cuts down the sides to give the mask a taper complete the construction. I glued some red fabric in the eyes and mouth rather than use a coloerd light. I tried making a fake flame in the mouth, but ran into some problems because of the size of the fan I was using. I may try to go back to this idea later. |

| Here is a picture of the mask hanging over the light. I plan to put some additional decoration, loose burlap jute, around the edge of the mask. | ||

Another picture, this time without the flash.

| Added some of the raffia I used on the skull torches. | ||
