First Try
This is the 'Prototype'
|
| The written invitation
is wrapped around the 'Guardian of Darkness' necklace and placed in the
coffin. The coffin is lined with satin cloth (red in the final version).
The paper is dyed yellow and burned at the edges to give it an 'old' look. |
 |
Laying out the
coffins to be cut. |
| The coffins are 6" high and
2.5" across and made from .25" plywood. |
 |
Tops and bottoms
cut out, waiting for sides |
 |
Coffins in various
stages of assembly |
 |
Slave labor used to help paint the coffins.
They liked painting, Really!
|
| These are my nephews, Tyler
on the left and Brock on the right. I think most of the paint got on the
table. You will see at the end they did a great job. |
 |
Painted and assembled
coffins with engraved and painted cross. |
|
A cross was routered into the top of each coffin and then painted. I
painted half silver and half red. The tops will be painted black, highlighting
the crosses.
|
 |
Next step, gluing the lining in the coffins.
