I thoroughly enjoyed this emotional ride for its realism and clarity. The author gives us a satisfying story with a surprise twist, leaving one scrambling through to the last pages. There is something to be said when an author keeps you thinking, weeks after you have put the book down. -- Nancy Jackson, Reviewer Midwest Book Reviews

The Carrot and the Mule is a very well written and interesting book that will make you stop and think hard about how people act and why they make the choices they do. First time author, Joseph Anthony Foti, has taken an honest and poignant look at an emotional and disturbing subject of physical abuse, and has written a complex story with elements that will keep you reading through its entirety. --Sandra Tibbetts, Roundtable Reviews

Rarely have I come across a lawyer fiction work that transcends the legal thriller genre. Joseph Anthony Foti has delivered a poetic novel that is pure legal fiction, but not a legal thriller. It's just around 120 pages, & a fast  paced read.
--Narayan Radhakrishnan, Sr. Associate Reviewer, RebeccasReads.Com

The Carrot and the Mule is a well-written first novel by author Foti, a published poet. Resonating with faith, determination and a seemingly unachievable goal, his main character emerges from a symbolic trial by fire to a maturity and understanding of what he stands for in life, despite the sacrifices he's had to make along the way. An entertaining read, and a satisfying one. --Denise M. Clark, Denise's Pieces book reviews

Dear Visitors,

I have recently discovered that my guestbook was being abused by some mindless visitors. They were adding links to sites that I absolutely do not endorse. Therefore I have removed the guestbook all together.  If you would like to comment on my site or discuss any issue with me, feel free to email me at jfotibooks@aol.com.
