I am now officially over 500 months-old...
500+ months does not sound so bad, months go by in smaller ~ more managable chunks. Babies get counted in months, why shouldn't we?
2007 has gone. The highlight reel includes my first (and perhaps only) coast-to-coast drive to visit Shannon in LA for Easter. Then there was the National School Scrabble Championship in May, one of the teams I coached won the whole thing in the Final Game! In 2008, more of my teams went to the NSSC - one of my teams won it all (click for pix)
2008 ~ first big change: I resigned my position at R.T. Vanderbilt, Co. I was there for over 9 years - it was time to go...now, considering changing my career path. I may go into teaching, I do not know much ~ so I have to go to college first...
My kids have already "been there, done that", two college graduations in May 2008. Shannon from Loyola Marymount University, and Kevin from the University of Notre Dame. Shannon is going on for her Master's in Education, while teaching at a Catholic grade school in Los Angeles. Kevin will be working with a Shakespeare Company, on stage and back stage - continuing his career in theatre...

My current NSA rating is 1416 which makes me well below average.
(and, pathetically, over 200 points BELOW my peak rating in Feb 2006)
I am not getting worse, most everyone else is getting better!

What do I do for fun...?
Well, I used to coach little league, now I coach kids in Scrabble. I umpired for awhile when my kids were too old and too talented to be coached by me anymore. I directed a few of their high school's theatrical endeavours, and chaperoned quite a few trips with the Regina Coeli church youth group to the Steubenville East High School Youth Conferences in Attleboro, MA.
To balance out that "nice" thing, I was known to take a mess of kids to heavy metal concerts: Ozzfest, Warped Tour, Summer Sanitarium, and to see whatever band happens to be rocking out The Chance in Poughkeepsie. Most recently, my kids and my Godson Jake went with me to see Rob Zombie!
I find too much time to get into trouble, I enjoy playing in competitive Scrabble tournaments around the country. I can be found practicing at the Internet Scrabble Club ~ where my handle is appropriately "SqUaLiD".
