Yorkshire Artist Les Wilson
Introducing Yorkshire Artist
 Les Wilson
Les was born in the town of Castleford, West Yorkshire in the 1940's and excelled at art from a very early age.
At school, when he was just ten years old his head teacher  entered one of Les's paintings in a national art contest held by the Seven Seas company.  Les painted a trawler battling with stormy seas. He excells at dramatic paintings and water.  He took third prize of a large box of paints.... the rest is just history.

Having had to retire early from his job as a continental coach tour driver due to ill health could have been a blessing in disguise as this has allowed Les to throw himself totally into his painting.

His work can now be found in galleries and private collections throughout Europe, Germany, Canada and Australia.  His favourite local exhibition is run by the International Guild of Artists and is held at the Kings Hall and Winter Gardens at ILKLEY four times a year, where you can always guarantee that at least six of his paintings will be on show.

Les also demonstrates in Watercolour/Gouache and teaches at two of his local art clubs each week.  He also gives one evening each week to teaching Calligraphy in his local church hall.

Why not make contact with Les for a chat?  You can E:mail him on - Les4paintings@aol.com - (or simply click on the E:mail button at the bottom right of this page.)  He will answer your problems on painting in most media or take a commission for that favourite scene that you wanted to see hanging on your wall.  You can also phone him for a chat on your art or painting problems  on 07903 505320 you might be well pleased that you did!
