Day 17, This morning after a quick breakfast we sadly said goodbye to our homestay families. We once again boarded the bus and traveled to Coffs Harbour, where we would be spending the night. Our main activity for the day was our stop in Byron Bay for lunch. We were going to have lunch at a local surf club but first we played a traditional surf club game. In Australia surf clubs are used to teach children life saving skills and to get them interested in lifeguarding. The game we played was an example of one that would normally be played at a surf culb. It consisted of lying on the beach and then sprinting to get a flag before your fellow sprinters could take them all. It was actually a lot of fun and taught us a little about Australia. We ate lunch afterward and kept going on to Coffs Harbour. |

Day 18, We left Coffs Harbour this morning and continued on to our final destination, Sydney. It was along day of travel so we were all thrilled when we finally reached Sydney. Everyone was absolutely in awe as soon as we spotted the Tower Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. We dropped our luggage off at our hotel and then went to have dinner on the harbor. We finished off our first night in Sydney by relaxing at the hotel. |
