Locust Police Department
The Locust Police Department is continually striving to provide the best possible service to the community. The officers of the Locust Police Department are professionals who care.
The Locust Police Department consists of eleven officers — five full-time and six reserves. The department provides police protection and assists with all EMS and Fire emergencies within the city. All officers are active in the Community Policing Effort. The City of Locust has twenty-four hour police protection with an average response time under seven minutes.
The Locust Police Department is organized with the Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, Captain, Sergeant and Patrol Officers. All applicants must be North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training Certified.
