News & Issues Release Week 13 Issue 13 Young Families Monday, August 28, 2000
Lorge, Head of his own Young Family, will vote for "Young Families" 100% of the Time if elected to the US Senate
Waukesha County, WI - US Senate Candidate Bill Lorge, the head of his own Young Family, this week made it clear that if he is elected to the US Senate, that he will vote 100% of the time for Young Families. "There has to be someone living the life of a Young Family in the US Senate. Most Senators are retired old guys. I will be rare, but the Young Families in America and Wisconsin will benefit from that rarity, because every vote I take will be based on how much it does or does not help Young Families. Young Families make up the majority of Citizens in our Country, yet they have little representation in the US Senate. I am Young, age 39, I have a wonderful supportive Wife, a brilliant 3 year old daughter, a talented 1 1/2 year old son and a new baby due in two months. I know what Young Families are thinking better than any other Candidate for the US Senate in Wisconsin or anywhere else in America. I have spent most of my entire life preparing for my time to raise my family as well as preparing for this challenge to run and win the US Senate seat for Young Families. To be the #1 US Senator who is known for fighting for Young Families is all I want. That is all I am campaigning on, it is my entire campaign. It will be a big boost for the Young Families if Bill Lorge wins!", said Lorge. Lorge, who is also known as a Maverick and is running on a "Let the People Decide" Campaign in the September 12th GOP Primary, said there are several very important reasons why Young Families should turn out to vote for Bill Lorge: Issues Lorge Outlines for Young Families: Cut Taxes for Young working Families: "You should not have to pay more than 5% of your income to the federal government in taxes. If elected to the US Senate, I will author legislation to cap the federal income tax at 5%, period. Young Families must be able to afford to keep one parent at home with their pre-school children. This is the best was to raise our future leaders. Tax laws can change this by leaving the hard earned income in the pockets of those who sweat to earn it. I want to help Young Families and all Americans with the biggest problem we face today - a huge loss of wages because of the federal government's tax structure. Imagine what an average Young Family will be able to do with an extra $1,000 a month?" - Bill Lorge Education: "Every School in America must have the best equipment and surroundings for the highest quality education for our children, period. Our future centers around how we educate our children, and it continues later on as new job training is constantly needed. The federal government should set the basic minimum standards nationwide, reduce class size, and assist the local school districts with building the supreme schools we need. We want our children to grow up to be the best they can be. It starts at home, but eventually our Schools must improve on the work we do. We count on it, we expect it, we demand it, so we must do it. America must have the best educational system in the World." - Bill Lorge. Ecstasy & Raves: "As a parent these events scare the heck out of me. There is growing concern among parents I meet about the Rave parties and the drugs they hear their children are surrounded by on a daily basis. Our law enforcement is failing on this epidemic. I created the 'Drug Tip Hotline' for Schools when I was a State Legislator. I went into the schools and spoke to kids, classrooms and even full student body assemblies about the issues and laws that involve our Young Citizens while I was a State Legislator. As a US Senator, I will continue this fight everyday to improve the lives of our children and to rid our schools from drugs." - Bill Lorge. Get rid of all Federal Marriage Income Tax Penalties, as well as all State Marriage Income Tax Penalties: "As a State Legislator I voted every year to end all Marriage Tax Penalties - all of them, not just the Income Tax Rate Marriage Tax Penalty, but all of them, including the Property Tax Rent Credits that Penalize Married Couples. I am fully committed to making marriage a positive thing with benefits and pluses rather than the penalties and minuses that governments place on marriages. There should be no tax penalties at all for married couples." - Bill Lorge. Lorge, the Maverick for the People, said that people who want to learn more about his support for the "Young Families" and other issues, can log onto his web page at: www.hometown.aol.com/Lorge2000 and follow the links to his Issues pages. "I am honored to be running for the US Senate. I am really in my element. I am in the prime of my life. My kids are my purpose in life. We need one US Senator who will fight for the love of our kids. That is what I want to be known for. I am the Youngest Candidate, I have the longest elective record, I have a beautiful Young Family. As a ten year State Legislator, I never missed a vote in Committees or in Session - I take my work for the People very seriously, and when the fight is to elevate Young Families, I will be more dedicated than ever. Young working mothers, and over worked daddys look me in the eye and they tell me they know I will do it, they trust me and they want me to win. I have to win it for them. I am enjoying everyday of this campaign. I can do this everyday until November 7th, but I have to win on September 12th and this is our focus right now," said Lorge.
