MARK "ELVIS" HUSSMAN

The Chicago Tribune refers to Mark as: "Chicago's Favorite Elvis," and The Chicago Sun-Times dubs him: "Elvis Performer Extraordinaire!" AOL voted him as Number One Elvis!" Mark has performed onstage with music legends like Bono, U2, Olivia Newton-John, Shania Twain and Wynonna Judd. Mark Hussman, and his Elvis Spectacular Concerts have been featured in Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and on local, national and international television shows, including a worldwide satellite broadcast on CNN in 2001! Mark is enthusiastically endorsed by Elvis fans across the globe, including U2's Bono, and the legendary, Cher.

Hussman is best known in the United States as the producer, and headliner of the biennial "Elvis Spectacular'' Concert Series. Mark began his career in Chicago upon winning the "All-Elvis Championship" in 1993. From 1993 to 1998, he performed at the United Center during the golden years of the Chicago Bulls. In 1997, Hussman wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed holiday musical, "Christmas with the King'' at Pipers Alley. Mark has also produced and headlined the Annual Elvis Concert in Lincoln Park, after the Chicago's "Elvis Is Alive" 5K, every year since it's inception, in 1997.

In 1997, Mark Hussman joined forces with the (brand new) House of Blues to create the very first Elvis Spectacular Concert. The concert series has become increasingly popular, and continues to this day, twice a year, every year. This August, Mark will be producing, "The 30th Anniversary Elvis Spectacular!"

Mark performs throughout the United States and abroad, and he holds a degree from Northwestern University's School of Speech. Mark's website, WWW.MARKELVIS.COM has received millions of visitors.

musicals that Elvis made in the 1960s! Margrocks have been a welcome addition

to The Elvis Spectacular, providing us w/ special theatrical & dance talent

that generates even more sparkle into Elvis' 1970's Concert format.

My all-time favorite Margrock Numbers are:"Viva Las Vegas"

"The Memphis Rock Medley," "An American Trilogy,"

"Blue Hawaii," and of course, "Girls! Girls! Girls!"

Chicago's popular Elvis Presley performer Mark Hussman hooked up with Bono Friday night in Las Vegas. After the rock legend did his own Elvis impersonation while singing "Love and Peace" during the U2 concert, he called Hussman onstage to lead the crowd's sing-along for "Can't Help Falling in Love" -- just like Bono did with "Mark Elvis" a couple of years ago. "I thought I was in heaven when Bono not only did the song again, but when he called me up onstage to do it with him!"

ELVIS ONLINE: Congrats to Mark Hussman, Chicago's hardest-working Elvis Presley impersonator, for being tapped as the ''No. 1 Elvis,'' which means he'll grace the ''Welcome'' screen on AOL--popping up on millions of computers around the world. Catch Chicago's favorite Elvis at 'Spectacular' tribute.

Before graduating from Northwestern's TV/film department, Chicagoan Mark Hussman landed some bit-part spots on soaps like "General Hospital." But it wasn't until he won an Elvis impersonation contest in 1993 that his career came into focus.

He began hosting Elvis events around town, started touring (Vegas, naturally), and in 1997, Hussman began the popular twice-a-year "Elvis Spectacular" to honor the King's birth and death dates.

Q: You've got some pretty big-name fans already--Bono, Wynonna Judd, Cher.

A: When I met U2 [at Le Passage], Bono said, "I've always wanted to meet you, Elvis." I gave him my karaoke disc, too. I told [Bono] we were going to try and [see U2 in] Las Vegas, and he said "We'll do one for you if we see you there." Lo and behold, when we went to Vegas, U2 closed the concert (for the 1st time ever) with "One/Can't Help Falling In Love With You."

Q: Have you ever channeled Elvis?

A: I do think Elvis is there to help me when the going gets rough. Some of those big endings can be really scary--like going for the last note of "My Way." You have to hit that note precisely. I have felt Elvis' spirit. It's sort of like "Angels In The Outfield" on stage.

Q: So do you ever forget and think you're actually Elvis?

A: [Laughs] No. I can guarantee that there are a lot of guys out there who believe that they're the King when on stage. I'm a little different in that I refer to Elvis in my concerts. I always think, before I add something to the show, "Would Elvis like this?" I stay close to the source but I go off creatively a little bit.
