Born and raised in Southern California, Mike Bennett began playing the drums at 8 years of age. Upon recognizing his talent and interest in this instrument, his parents quickly got him engaged in private study. By age 9, Bennett was performing with the local junior high school and as a guest performer with various local artists. Bennett continued his education and success throughout his schooling, receiving many accolades and awards, thus establishing himself as a premier performer in both the jazz and commercial fields. At the age of 15, Bennett found himself balancing school, touring, and recording, which he continued to concentrate on through his graduation from high school in the year 2000. That same year, the 17-year-old drummer was invited to continue his studies at Fullerton College, performing in various ensembles taking his skills to the next level. At only 20 years old, Bennett has already established himself as a legitimate, progressive performer in the new generation of up and coming drummers.
