Paul Leubner
Manitowoc, Wisconsin
Paul Leubner enlisted on August 21, 1862 when he was about 25 years old and was assigned to Company F of the 26th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He survived the war and was mustered out of service on June 13, 1865 and returned to Manitowoc. Leubner was known to have been a merchant of stoves and tinware located on South 8th Street in Manitowoc and later removed to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he died December 27, 1892 and is buried.
Guido E. Lindemann
Manitowoc, Wisconsin
Member of Company A, 5th Wisconsin Volunteers. Enlisted at Manitowoc on April 19, 1861. At the time of his enlistment he was single, had light eyes, light hair, fair complextion and stood 5' 7". He was born in 1843 in Prussia, the sone of A.G. Lindemann, a dry goods merchant, born March 25, 1810 in Prussia, and Elise Lindemann born 1812 also in Prussia. Guido listed his occupation as a tinsmith. He also had a twin brother Theodore Lindemann who served as a Corporal with Company A, 35th Wisconsin Volunteers. Guido transferred to Company C, Independant Battalion July 13, 1864. As of 1868, he was listed as a cigar maker and lime peddler, living on Washington St., in Manitowoc.
