Since discovering yoga it has become an integral part of my life and I’m always honored to share my love of yoga with others. I’ve studied with many different teachers in a variety of styles of Hatha Yoga and I draw from all these traditions in my teaching. I completed my pre and postnatal yoga teacher training with Colette Crawford at the Seattle Holistic Center. My most recent yoga teacher training was with Sonia Sumar in Yoga for the Special Child, a therapeutic approach using yoga for infants and children.
I am also certified in pregnancy massage, and a certified infant massage instructor. I have a masters degree in special education and worked in early intervention programs with infants, preschoolers and their parents in Florida and New York. I am the mother of three children and they have been my best teachers.
In my prenatal classes I want to teach women how to use yoga to feel more comfortable as their bodies grow and change. I also hope to guide them toward being more in touch with their intuition and strength so that they can enjoy and appreciate this special time. I want to help women prepare themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally for a good childbirth experience.
I know that the first few months with a new baby are not only wonderful but also lots of hard work. I try to make my Mom & Baby classes fun and relaxing. My aim is to teach safe and gentle yoga to help mom begin to regain strength and flexibility in a playful atmosphere where her baby can be nearby. I also want to share ways of using yoga and massage with babies to encourage their physical and emotional development.
Yoga has been a wonderful gift in my life. My goal in my teaching is to make yoga accessible to everyone in a loving, safe and noncompetitive atmosphere.
