IT'S TIME TO RENAME HARTFORD, "FARTHORD."

Hi, I'm Mort Twain ... not Mark Twain because he's dead but Mort Twain only seems dead because he lives in the Hartford region.

Native Americans sold Hartford in exchange for some trinkets, blankets, and about $1.98 in cash ... and they came out ahead in the deal!!!

YUCK, it's one thing after another in "The City of Morons." Several years ago, the Hartford Sewage Authority opened the wrong valves and flooded nearby historic Wethersfield Cove with raw sewage turning it into a brown/lumpy body of water where residents once fished, swam, and boated. Then, there was the fire in the MDC's compost plant ...with waste and compost 25 feet deep burning like a bad fart ...the billowing, putrid smoke blowing over the entire city and surrounding hamlets causing a disgusting smell (see "asthma").

NOTHING HERE IS MADE UP ... THAT'S THE SAD PART.

HARTFORD NEWS:

Hartford just opened its long (and I mean long) awaited Hartford Convention Center. And guess who was there for the first official function this July 4th? It was the American Islamic Society. Eventhough, the Convention Center faces the river and the great Riverfest fireworks would be playing to the Islamic conventioneers, do you think the city would pull out all the stops? No, the Riverfest Fireworks lasted about 15 minutes!

What a way to "Christen" the new Convention Center! But, it wasn't "Christened," it was "Allahed." Not that there's anything the matter with that.

ONCE THEY SEE HARTFORD, THE IDEA THAT AMERICANS ARE RICH AND SUCCESSFUL WILL VANISH AND THE MUSLIMS WILL TELL OF A LAND OF TERRIBLE POVERTY AND SEND DONATIONS!

A TRAIL OF CORRUPTION IN HIGH PLACES

Wherever in the world you live, you'll be interested to see what happens when everybody pulls apart to create the urban blight such as Hartford, Connecticut.

The ex-governor, John Rowland, is now in jail. His second in command, Jodi Rell, is carrying on his legacy. She, like Rowland is getting a free ride from the local media who are always afraid to take on the establishment even if that were the American Nazi party. Governor Rell said nary a word as her boss Rowland and his buddies looted and gutted the nutty Nutmeg state for years and years. Now, she is portrayed as a fair and honest lady.

Rowland's aides, assitants, chiefs of staff, and so on are now waiting their turns to go to jail. Many are under indictment.

The mayor of Waterbury, Giordano is serving a life sentence. Mayor Ganim of Bridgeport is in prison, too, for kickbacks, mail fraud, and extortion. They were all Rowland supporters ... but so was George W. Bush!!!(see picture above).

Hartford's corrupt city and governmental agencies have contributed to the worst air quality in the nation ... not to mention the worst highway system of serpentine road and impossibly designed exits ... all designed in violation of Federal Highway standards.

Hartford was supposed to build an elaborate new Children's Museum some years ago, but it seems their former director embezzled the money. However, the area children were able to ride the escalators in the Civic Center until recently until it was razed due to economic collapse.

THE INDIAN NAME FOR HARTFORD WAS "SUCKIAUG." Now, is that perfect or what?

Hartford Oddities:

There are only a couple of main streets in downtown Hartford. The storefront windows on Pearl Street haven't been washed in 5 years and the storefronts are abandoned! A local theater group has its schedule of plays posted ... from 5 years ago!!!

There's a "Welcome to Hartford" tunnnel where you enter the city on I-84. There's no reason for the tunnel except to cause accidents. You enter into almost total darkness from bright sunlight. The city never even posted a "please remove your sunglasses" sign and the accident rate is off the charts as people lose visiblity or hit black ice in the winter.

STRANGER THAN FICTION:

Harford honors the inventor of anesthesia in its
Bushnell Park with a big statue. His name is Horace Wells and he committed suicide in prison where he was sentenced for being a convicted woman slasher. He was also a substance abuser. Hartford may be the only city in America honoring a violent substance abuser in its main park ... but ironically, now with the highest murder rate in the county ... 74 people shot for every 100,000 poor citizens ... the statue of Horace Wells has become the city's standard bearer.
