OHIO GEORGE MALCO GASSER
PICTURED on this page is the MALCO Gasser before being sold back to OG. AFTER WE REPLACED ALL PARTS IT TO AS LAST RUN! This was a UNRESTORED ORG GASSER.
When Ford his major sponcer said you MUST drive a Ford car to go with your Ford motor! Get rid of the Willys. George did! He sold the car in parts. Pieces ended up all over the go old USA. Transmission here engine block there! Shark fin scoop in a barn in Ohio and so on. Then the basic body was run by a guy with the name COMPULSION as a J/GAS car. The very well engineered ran way too far under the national record and so it was very quickly outlawed! The body bounced around for a while. Until a guy named Fred got the car near Chicago, Illinois. This is were the car was saved from the STREET!  Very close call. This was the late 1970s Dad brought it home and started the over ten year replacement of ALL the orig. parts. He was using old pictures and the model car instructions to make sure all was right. As parts were found. We saw that all the pieces had a code stamped on them. The block, heads (found on an ac CORBA in Hays Ka), intake (AC Cobra in cal), blower (sand rail in lower Ohio )! So dad made a list of all the pieces and there codes. Wile putting the car back together we called George to ask for help. He said "no way you put my car back together?" ...Shortly there after we made the drive to his speed shop in Dayton Ohio with the list in hand looking for help finding the last couple of pieces. Still missing was the zoomie headers and Hals with the slicks. We when to the shop Greg was working the counter his son. George took the list and went in the back and returned to say. "I do not know how you did it but you put my Willys back together as run last But you DID it !". Turns out he put numbers on all his parts to keep track of when it was run and how long. What a guy. This was a big help. Until this point we only hoped we had the right stuff. To make things even better we asked George about the Hals and slicks and the zoomie header that Dad could not find any were. He smiled and went to the pull down later from the roof of the speed shop and went up. we head some banging and knocking from the attic. Then down the latter came one Hals with the slick still mounted. Then to other. Next down the steps came George carrying the chrome zoomie headers. WOW! Now the car was complete needing only detailed and lettered.

A few years later Greg his son called and wanted the car back. This car would never have left the collection if not being sold back to George. A deal was made and the car went home. From there he simply took it apart and detailed it. Bam restored. thanks Big Kevin Masters
